Registration Rules
1. Late registration or incomplete information will not be accepted.
2. Participants must ensure that the information submitted for registration is correct.
3. There are no refunds for successful registrations/re-registrations.
4. If a participant provides incorrect information, fails to complete the payment, or is not eligible to participate, the Organizer will reserve the right to cancel the competition, and the paid fee will not be refunded. If Participants needs to change their name, they need to pay a $100 handling fee. The Organizer will also call Mail or other methods to inquire or request supplementary information from the contestants.
5. If the number of registrations for any event exceeds the quota, the Organizer will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis while the quota is full; the Organizer reserves the right to make the final decision. Those who failed to sign up: The Organizer will notify and arrange refunds via email within four to six weeks after the registration deadline.
6. The Organizer reserves the right to stop registration before or after the registration deadline without prior notice.
7. After completing the registration and payment, the contestant abides by and accepts all the terms, rules and arrangements set by all the Organizer.
8. The competition will distribute gifts according to the size selected by the contestants, and there will be no replacement. The number bib cannot be transferred to others.
Competition Rule
1. Competitors must complete the competition within their abilities.
2. Competitors should follow the competition's route; taking shortcuts is strictly forbidden.
3. Competitors can only accept support inside the refreshment points, excluding self-service vending machines.
4. If a competitor withdraws from the competition, he must notify the person in charge of the nearest refreshment points.
5. If a competitor requires assistance during the competition, they can call the organizer at the number on their bib.
6. The entry number must be posted outside the whole process and can be seen during the competition.
7. Competitors should consider other users on the path and not force ahead on the narrow path.
8. If other competitors are injured or unwell, they should help.
9. Contestants are not allowed to litter. Violators may be disqualified.
10. Participants are not allowed to take prohibited or illegal drugs.
11. Each participant can store one piece of checked luggage at the starting point. Any items left at the checkpoint will be discarded.
12. The Organizer has taken out public liability insurance, but it does not include personal accident insurance. If necessary, participants should purchase personal accident insurance themselves.
13. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the competition rules, routes and/or other arrangements .
Race Start, Pause and Suspension Policy
1. If Typhoon No. 8 or black rain is hoisted during any race, the race in progress will be cancelled.
2. If Typhoon Signal No. 8 takes effect two hours before the race, it will be cancelled.
3. If the Observatory issues a red rain/black rain/thunderstorm warning one hour before the race, it will be postponed, and the race will be decided depending on the weather conditions.
4. If the race is cancelled, unless otherwise instructed by the checkpoint staff, the runners must return to the finish line to retrieve their luggage.
5. The Organizer will not provide refunds for force majeure, including epidemics, demonstrations, temporary permit cancellations by government departments, or cancellations due to weather, suspensions, diversions, delays, etc.
Results Announcement
1. Watts The Matter Run 2026 does not have an appeal mechanism.
2. All awards will be presented at a designated time after the competition; early collection is not available. For late collection, participants must contact the organizing committee within 3 working days. The awards will be sent by courier, and participants are responsible for the shipping costs.
Final Decision
1. The Organizer reserves the right to amend these articles of association without notice.
2. In case of any dispute, the Organizer reserves the right to a final decision.
3. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the qualifications and results of those who have violated or disobeyed any event rules. The fee for the disqualified contestant will not be refunded.
4. The Organizer has the final decision on this event. Any temporary changes related to the competition/event will be announced on the event's Instagram and website.
Acknowledgment and Disclaimer
1. Participation & Rules
I wish to join and participate in Watts The Matter Run 10K on 28 November 2026. I accept the rules, conditions, and regulations of Watts The Matter Run 10K and will comply with them, and confirm that I am responsible for myself.
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand that running and outdoor activities involve inherent risks and dangers that may result in personal injury, property damage, or even death. I confirm that I am fully aware of the activity route, environment, and associated risks (including, but not limited to, sudden weather changes, traffic conditions, remote mountainous areas, rugged or slippery natural terrain, getting lost, hypothermia, heat exhaustion, falls from height, and wildlife or insect encounters), and I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in this event.
3. Health Declaration
I declare that I am in good physical health and do not suffer from any medical conditions that would make it unsafe for me to participate in this strenuous exercise (including, but not limited to, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, or joint problems). I acknowledge that the organizers will not verify my health status prior to the event, and it is my responsibility to consult a physician if necessary. If I feel any discomfort during the event, I will immediately cease the activity and notify the organizer.
4. Waiver of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I agree to waive, release, and discharge the organizers (including Wattsup Hong Kong Limited,and their respective leaders, volunteers, sponsors, and partners) from any and all claims or liabilities. The organizers shall not be held responsible for any injury, death, or property damage I may suffer during the event for any reason, including but not limited to the negligence of the organizers, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct that cannot be legally waived.
5. Media Release
I consent to being photographed and recorded by the organizers during the event. I hereby authorize the organizers to use photographs, videos, and audio recordings containing my likeness on the social media platforms (such as Instagram and Facebook), websites, and other promotional materials of Watts The Matter Race, Watts The Matter and Wattsup on a royalty-free basis and without prior notice.
6. Emergency Medical Consent
In the event of an accident or emergency medical situation during the activity where I am unable to communicate my wishes, I authorize the organizers to arrange for emergency medical care on my behalf. I agree to be solely responsible for all associated medical and transportation expenses (including, but not limited to, mountain search and rescue operations, emergency ground transportation, helicopter evacuation, hospitalization, and medical escort costs).
7. Minors
Participants under the age of 18 must obtain the consent of their parent or legal guardian before registration. Furthermore, their parent or legal guardian must read, understand, and check the agreement box during online registration of this liability waiver to assume the corresponding legal responsibilities.
